A Fresh Start in 2010 – Our Blog Has Been Given a New Life!

16

Hey Everyone,

People have been wondering what has happened to our blog over the past couple of years.

We have made intermittent posts at best…

The quality has lacked, due to a lack of time dedication, blah, blah, blah..

An underwhelming blog experience for visitors to say the least.

THAT IS ABOUT TO CHANGE HOWEVER!

Our blog has been updated for 2010…a fresh look, a fresh approach, and ultimately fresh outlook on blogging.

Our blog has never been a true reflection of the community that we have created at WA.  That is, WA is being updated an improved upon every day.

That means we are not doing ourselves justice by letting our blog become stale.

Let’s take a look at the last year alone at WA…

  • Our biggest move yet…and upgrade to WA Platinum
  • A Wiki-based system, users can generate content
  • WA Spaces and full networking capabilities
  • An ultra comprehensive, time-released action plan
  • A real-time, modifiable dashboard
  • Upgraded Affiliate Program w/ New Incentives
  • 100′s of New videos and training tutorials\
  • Upgraded WA Hosting to “UNLIMITED” domains, space, and bandwidth
  • Added new WA forums
  • Helped create a bunch of new successful marketers

And the last year in the Internet marketing world has also being one to mark for the ages..

  • The New FTC Rulings
  • Article Directories Being Squeeze into Changing
  • Adwords Being up to Their Old Tricks
  • The Introduction and Improvements to the Bing Platform
  • Email Marketing is becoming more obvious to more people as THE WAY
  • Affiliate Links Stinking Up the World
  • The breakthrough or honest and ethical marketing
  • The mild effects of the worlds recession/depression on marketers
  • Introduction of new industries, products, and ad channels
  • Social marketing, tweeting, and facebooking
  • Video as training, video as marketing
  • And on, and on, and on….

Next year at this time we are going to be able to look back at our blog and see exactly what has happened.  Meaning…our blog will be a reflection of the Internet marketing world…but with our own spin on it.

It is going to be timely and offer an experience outside WA that hopefully spur intriguing and sometimes controversial conversations.

It will also include and reflect industry knowledge from not only us, but as well as guest bloggers.  This will be pretty cool as sometimes people get tired of hearing just us “rap” all the time about the industry.

I personally am going to be a bit of a story teller.  I like to cover some of the deeper, less touched subjects about inner motivation and what really makes the difference between “a millionaire” and someone who flunks.

I know Carson has a ton of great stuff as well…and a ton of advice, interpretations and stories to blog about.  I know he and I may disagree on some Internet marketing topics, and this may come out as well.  Whose side will you be on?

Our blog is not going to be stale any longer.

It is going to be a true representation of the superior community that we offer at Wealthy Affiliate.  It is going to be a representation of our business ethics, our goals, and our years of knowledge.

Glad to have you on board and thank you for your patience.  It is going to be a ride!

Cheers,

Kyle (& Carson)

    Hi, K & C,
I’m really glad to see that you started a new blog … and it does look GR8 I remember when I first started IM with you guys and I said I was starting a blog that Carson asked me Why?

As you guys are advocates of website promotion, well It’s been a while since wamembersarea has been running and even though I am ot in the big boy league as yet I must say that I have enjoyed my blogging experience… But if the truth be known. yep I would have been better driving traffic to a static site hey hoe we all live and learn …

Yes, Wealthy Affiliate is a training facility that caters to any level, including people that are brand new to the Internet marketing world. One thing that you should not expect however is success overnight. The Internet is a platform that can expedite the once seemly SLOW process to achieve success, but it does take hard work and dedication to get there. We offer monthly and yearly memberships…and you can cancel at any time. We do not have ONE TIME payments.

    @ Dave

Many members at Wealthy Affiliate have been scammed over and over again online. I completely understand your skepticism however Kyle and I work closely with any members that need personal help or support. We have a motto that no one is left alone to figure things out on their own. Our primary objective is to help every member of Wealthy Affiliate succeed in creating a successful online business, and we don’t succeed unless you do! Although you have been scammed before, WA is not a get rich quick scheme and we are the most honest program around. As long as you follow our many tutorials and guides you WILL succeed. Please let us know if you have any further questions. Cheers.

I want so badly to be a part of this system but I have been beaten up so badly by other plans, schemes, and just plane BS that I’am to spend another nickle of my hard earned money chasing a work at home sucessfully dream. I have at best a meadioker job that is rough on my body and has a very demanding new age boss. To earn a living from my home has been my goal for a long time. I have already lost one home to a piggyback mortguage and can not afford to through money away that could feed my family instead. Of all the get rich articles i have bought I have yet to sucessfully earn any money toward any kind of income. These kinds of decetfull practices have got me down. I want to do this, but I’m afraid to loose the money. Please convince me that this is ligitimate and doable. I’m not computer proficient but i am no dummy ether.

I agree with Joe Davila. You should make sure you have a section for newcomers, people who don’t know anything about marketing online. For example, I have no idea what a wiki is, although I know the site Wikipedia, but I couldn’t automatically put together what you meant. Never, ever automatically assume knowledge. Many of us have older computers and haven’t had the opportunity to learn a lot of the techie stuff that’s come out in the past 6 or 7 years. I would have loved to because I love computers, but I could never pay for the training.

So yes, offer a big, specified section for newcomers (I dislike the word “newbies”). :-) Good luck!

I know how it is to keep updating my blog. I have had my business for a year and haven’t got around to doing any of my updates to my site. I work on other peoples sites so much I kind of forget about my stuff. I guess that goes with being a designer.

Anyways, good work and I did enjoy my stay at Wealthy Affiliate. Drop by and leave me a line sometime.

  9. Kevin says:

Does this really work for a beginner? I’ve been scammed before, hard to know who to trust . Can you pay a one time fee instead a fee each month?

  10. Kyle says:

    @ JeromyS

Yeah I hear you on the “busy” factor. Little jobs like writing your own blog posts and responding to comments like this, can add up very quickly. We did not want to go the route of “ghost blogging” as do many professionals (even the likes of Robert Kiyosaki). We want the blog to be represent who we are, our values, our opinions and what we stand for within this crazy industry. This is an investment on our part, but one that we felt is critical enough to our business that we wanted for it to be representative of the quality “inside the box” at WA.

    Thanks for your feedback.

    Kyle

  11. Kyle says:

    @Paula

Glad you like the email…I have family (most of which in fact) can take a fridge full of half-rotten food and often times make it taste better than mine. It goes to prove that with time, you develop your own formula and we become successful different ways. Michael Jordan’s mechanics are not the same as LeBron James, yet they are both excellent basketball players and experts at their trade.

20 hours is more than ample time to see results. One thing that you should consider is that 50% of this time is spent on learning what we teach and research within Wealthy Affiliate and the other 50% should be building (taking action). Thanks for the feedback!

    Cheers,

    Kyle

This is great news! I’m glad to see the WA blog brought back to life! However, I know first-hand that y’all have been incredibly busy with all the upgrades and additions to Wealthy Affiliate so I can totally understand why it got quiet ’round these parts. Y’all have been SUPER busy – not quite sure how you accomplished all you have!

I’d like to say something to Joe also….

Joe, in my experienced opinion, Wealthy Affiliate is PERFECT for newbies and all stages of internet marketing. Learning all this stuff IS tough, and having guidance, quality tools, and community support is priceless.

The new WA Action Plan that was just released is excellent. It provides valuable insight and directive to show you many, many potential avenues for generating income online. All ya gotta do is pick one that is right for you and run with it.

WA can absolutely teach you everything over time, but all you need to get things going is to learn ONE thing and get to work putting what you learn into action.

Info over-load is MUCH worse without structure and guidance…. that’s one of the things that WA is perfect for – structure and guidance so you’re not alone trying to learn all this by yourself.

I hope you’ll reconsider and come on back =)

    Good stuff Kyle and Carson.

Keeping the blog up to date with content, when you are busy with marketing projects is pretty tuff. Its been a challenge of mine too. I think one of the bigger challenges that I have is distractions and focus. And I think this is probably common throughout the industry. I get going on one of many of my projects, I get it to a point that I am happy with then I move onto another. What happens is these projects all need regular maintenance/updating, it doesn’t take long before it needs attention again.

How I have been beginning to get a handle on this is by actually recording and tracking each project (I am also outsourcing some work, which is another challenge unto itself). I have created folders to keep each projects files/email organized. Each project has its own “goal”. I have unsubscribed from all but my favorite marketers (you guys being one obviously) and even then I am very careful not to spend too much time (if any) on reviewing the things they promote. I have identified what MY business needs and where MY business is and by doing so, it is easier to ignore all the “new Launches” (Can we say enough already Amit, lol) because for the most part, its not in line with what I am doing and dropping what I am doing to go chase another “golden carrot” is why so many fail in this business, you must identify your plan and stick with it, going from one thing to the other is one sure way to both go broke and not make money online. That said, because I understand my business, I can quickly see when a product or service will in fact help with what I am currently doing, or I can be very specific about what I am looking for when I go in search of a new product or service.

I have been following you fellas for a few years now (fellow Canadians) and know that you guys are honest and tell it straight. For that reason, I trust the content you start delivering via your new blog will be gold and I am lookin forward to it!

    Cheers,

    JeromyS

I had to laugh today at your “are you the horrible chef?” email. Y’see that’s totally me. And I so know how bad I am because my partner’s a chef and it’s so eeeeeeasy for him to russle up a georgous something out of pretty much nothing while I could have kitchen full of fabulous ingredients and still only just manage beans on toast [LOL]!

But I’m so tempted to have one last go at this internet marketing caper … though I can’t really justify it given how many pounds I’ve spent and not earned anything. My chef as long since given up on myefforts [LOL]! Oh I’ve learned a lot … and I can follow instructions … if I had about 20 hours a week to dedicate to the WA path … how long do you think it would be before I could at least support my WA subscription?

  15. Kyle says:

    Hi Joe,

I do agree that Internet marketing can be tough…and yeah, an information overload can be present as there are many routes one can take to earn money online. However, at Wealthy Affiliate we explicitly explain to people that in order to succeed, you need to know less than more. By this I mean, you need to have an expertise in a certain niche or area, versus trying to be simply “knowledgeable” in many different fields.

We have (just this week) added a comprehensive action plan to Wealthy Affiliate that gets people performing tasks before they move on to new lessons. It also gets people taking action on what they learn instead of simply reading, partially absorbing and forgetting. The true nature of learned derives from the application component…and the action plan does an excellent job of this.

    Cheers,

    Kyle
