An article a day, keeps your campaigns in check…
June 12, 2008 – 10:07 amAll the time we get this…
“How come my article isn’t converting?”
Excuse moi? Did you say article or articles?
The reason most people fail at article marketing is the simple fact that they do not have a regular article marketing schedule. All too often people spend days (and sometimes even weeks) writing that perfect article…that article that is going to make them rich.
I can tell you from experience that you are better off spending 5 hours writing 5 articles, than tinkering around with the SAME article for 5 hours.
Someone that has 5 articles is 5 times more likely to get a page listed within the search engines and at a good position. We recommend that you create yourself a schedule and write 1 or 2 articles/day for a couple of weeks, and THEN analyze what you have done.
At this point you can refine your campaigns as you will likely be receiving traffic at this point.
Think about this.
If you write 1 article per day for an entire year, you will have 365 articles potentially receiving traffic. Say you only average 40 clicks per article throughout the course of the year (some will produce more some less).
You would have obtained 14,600 free clicks in a year. ALMOST 15,000 FREE CLICKS!
If you were using PPC, this traffic could have cost you well over $7000!! This is something you rub in the face of your PPC marketing friends!
One article per day, keeps your campaigns in check! Remember this.
Here are a couple of tips that will help you get listed within the SE’s.
(1) social bookmark your articles using sites like del.icio.us, digg.com, stumbleupon.com, propeller.com, reddit.com. These incoming links will improve the likelihood of your articles getting indexed and also boost rankings.
(2) Submit different articles to different article directories. Some will achieve better results for you than others. A few of the best are:
www.ezinearticles.com
www.squidoo.com
www.hubpages.com
www.usfreeads.com
www.goarticles.com
(3) Use article marketing tools to your advantage. We offer a content creation and article spinning tool within Wealthy Affiliate that will help you generate articles with high quality content and will allow you to spin 100’s of articles in minutes. A successful marketer is an efficient one and this is why we created this tool for members of WA.
On another note, we also provide members of WA with 50 fresh new PLR articles each month…you can use them (straight up), spin them, bust them up, or build guides from them. This is something that will save you both time and money.
Hope this helps everyone out. Have a great day!
To your article marketing success,
Kyle

Thanks for the consistent encouragement. I need it. I have had major unavoidable distractions taking care of my 94 year old grandma but always on my mind is making headway with WA. I have a new product that I want to promote so I really need to get focused and get a web page up. I also love the Rapid Writer support. I love to write. In fact one of my careers was as a journalist. Time is of the essence so thanks again for hanging in there with me…and everyone else.

Thanks guys,
Good lessons indeed, as I am very guilty of looking for the perfect article.
Do you have something on staying focus?

Yes, at Wealthy Affiliate we have a full article marketing process that we recommend you follow. Article marketing requires a certain discipline and we outline exactly what that discipline is and how to implement it.

Dear Kyle,
Your tips on profiting from article writing/marketing is really an eye-opener.
I strongly believe that successful article marketing is a game of numbers - moreso if you generate fresh, rich- content articles, that are distributed in the right places. I am yet to use your new “Rapid Writer”, but I know it is a breakthrough tool in article marketing.
Keep up your sound teachings.

Yes, it is a game of numbers…
In saying this, you still do want to provide quality information within your articles as anarticle is no good if it does not deliver relevant and informative information.
I have found that they more articles you write, the quicker the process becomes and the better copywriter you become.
Knowing how to “write” will take you a long way in this business and improve your overall proficiency.

As an absolute newbie, who is also NOT very computer savvy — do you have a recommendation on WHERE TO START (not just articles) but this whole business.
I am studying everything possible, and am chomping at the bit to get going. What info do you have for complete newcomers to the internet business world?

I have been running affiliate banners on my sites without luck, but am intimidated by what I can and cannot do to promote them (ie using trademarked names in my keywords, etc.). And Linkshare and CJ and others don’t seem to offer any help. So how do I get traffic to them other than banners and writing articles? I am a good writer, so I know I can do that. Also how many - is too many - companies to be affiliate to?
Thanks guys, you are great!
